UFC’s Mackenzie Dern has been called out by former Invicta FC strawweight champ, Livinha Souza, to a fight at the upcoming event in Brasila on March 14.
Souza (13-2-0) made the respectful call-out during a recent chat with MMA Fighting.
“I want to fight in Brasilia,” Souza said. “Let’s see what happens. If Mackenzie wants that, I’m here.”
“I would like to fight her because I admire her,” she continued. “It would be a great fight for jiu-jitsu fans. You only become a legend by beating on. We’ll be like two anacondas rolling in there. Let’s see who gets it done.”
Both Souza and Dern have won two out of three since signing with the UFC.
Souza has picked up victories over Alex Chambers and Sarah Frota, but lost a unanimous decision to Brianna Van Buren this past July.
Dern, a multiple-time BJJ world champ, picked up wins over TUF alumni in Ashley Yoder and Amanda Cooper, but lost a decision to Amanda Ribas this past October.
