Mackenzie Dern believes her UFC 224 opponent, Amanda Bobby Cooper, is a “way easier” match-up than her UFC debut versus Ashely Yoder.
If you ask Amanda Bobby Cooper what she thinks of her UFC 224 opponent, she’ll be quick to tell you she’s not impressed. Dern is a fighter who she says has been on her radar for quite some time. She told FloCombat in April that she believes Dern has “bad standup” and “doesn’t have good wrestling”. She also says Dern is “not much of a grappler”.
On Wednesday at UFC 224 media day, Dern responded to Cooper’s comments. Check out her response:
“She doesn’t think I’m good anywhere, basically. It’s okay. I think that Ashley was a harder opponent than her. Ashley is like southpaw, tall. Most of Ashley’s losses [are] by decision, never lost by submission. All of Amanda’s losses are by submission”
“So, I think the fight with Amanda is gonna be a good matchup for me. I think it’s gonna be way easier for me than against Ashley, who is taller and everything.”
“It’s the first person [Amanda Bobby Cooper] I am fighting that’s kind of talking about me, so I’m surprised. If it was in Vegas, I think it would be different. But man, she’s fighting in Brazil and she’s like talking a lot. I think it’s gonna be worse for her…You know, the ‘uh vai morrer’, they’re gonna say it no matter what. [But] the more she talks, the worse.”
Who will you be rooting for this weekend at UFC 224?
