Liz Carmouche vs. Jennifer Maia, flyweight bout | This Saturday, UFC Fight Night 133 Early Prelims | 6:30pm ET, LIVE on UFC FIGHT PASS

This Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 133 event features a flyweight contest between former title challenger Liz Carmouche and the promotional debut of Jennifer Maia.

Carmouche makes her second UFC flyweight appearance this Saturday.

Carmouche (11-6) makes her second promotional appearance as a flyweight after losing a split decision to Alexis Davis at the UFC Fight Night 123 event last December. The 34-year-old owns impressive UFC victories over the likes of Katlyn Chookagian, Lauren Murphy and Jessica Andrade. She notably challenged Ronda Rousey for the UFC bantamweight title in February 2013.

Maia (15-4-1) makes her highly anticipated promotional debut after a successful run with Invicta FC in which she captures the organization’s flyweight title and defended it two times. She owns notable wins over the likes of Roxanne Modafferi, Jessica Andrade, Vanessa Porto and Agnieszka Niedzwiedz.

One comment

  1. It is most disappointing that this fight between two of the top FW contenders has been relegated to the Pre-Prelim fights. I hope I’m wrong, as it will make for a much more interesting Flyweight division if I am, but I think Liz will establish that the former UFC BW fighters are on an entirely different level than the Former Invicta and TUF fighters.
