Livia Renata Souza inks UFC contract

UFC has signed a former Invicta FC strawweight champion.

Brazilian contender Livia Renata Souza (11-1) is headed to the UFC. Souza announced the move via  Instagram on Friday.

Souza captured the Invicta FC strawweight title by tapping Katja Kankaanpaa in April of 2015. She lost the title and was handed her first professional loss by split-decision to Angela Hill in May of 2016.

“Livinha” fought the last fight on her Invicta contract in August, defeating Janasia Morandin by unanimous decision.

Who would you like to see Souza face in her UFC debut?

  1. I’d like to see her avenge her loss to Angela Hill. Personally, I thought it could have easily gone the other way.

Now that Souza’s moving to the UFC, maybe Hamasaki will decide to give 115 one more shot. I still don’t know whether she plans to fight at 105 or 115 or both.

  2. I understand from that Weili Zhang will be fighting at UFC Fight Night Shanghai. If true, even more than seeing Souza rematch Hill, I would like to see the Invicta champ take on Zhang, Kunlun’s current strawweight champ, and according to some sites, winner of 16 straight pro fights, more than any other woman I can think of other than Cyborg.
