Lina Lansberg picked up her second UFC victory on Sunday at the Fight Night 130 event in Liverpool, England, earning the unanimous decision win over Gina Mazany.
Lansberg (8-3) initiated a clinch heavy attack, grinding Mazany up against the cage and then landing short elbows and knees for the majority of the fifteen minutes. Lansberg has now won two of her last three, with the loss coming to undefeated Aspen Ladd.
The “Elbow Queen” says she was ‘quite sure’ the judges would have given her the decision, however she wasn’t ‘totally’ sure.
“It’s always quite hard you know. It’s hard to see what the judges see when you’re in the fight, it’s really easy to feel like ‘Oh no, she catch me there’ and it’s quite easy to be hard on yourself. I try to listen to my coaches and what they say and I knew that she was really tired and I felt I had the last round, so I was quite sure I was going to win, not totally but quite.” she said.
The 36-year-old says she’d love to take on Brazil’s Bethe Correia and has her sights set on fighting closer to home at some point.
“Bethe from Brazil would be a really nice fight actually and I would love to fight in Sweden or Denmark.” she said.
UFC Fight Night 130 took place on Sunday May 27 from the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England, United Kingdom. The preliminary card featuring Lansberg vs. Mazany aired live on Fox Sports 1 from 11am EST.
