Leslie Smith joins Bellator featherweight division, meets Sinead Kavanagh in July

Leslie “The Peacemaker” Smith is headed to the Bellator featherweight division for her next fight.

A lot has happened since Smith (10-7-1) last fought in 2017. Despite riding a two-fight win streak, the UFC opted not to renew Smith’s contract when her scheduled fight with Aspen Ladd fell through due to Ladd missing weight.

It was announced in April that Smith, a fighting force for fighter’s rights and the leader of Project Spearhead, planned to move up to 145 pounds after singing with Bellator.

However, this will not be Smith’s promotional debut– she fought once for Bellator in 2009, losing a decision to Kerry Vera at Bellator 7.

Smith’s opponent for her promotional return is Ireland’s Sinead Kavanagh (5-3) who will look to get back in the win column after a doctor stoppage TKO loss to Janay Harding.

Who will you be rooting for?
