Heavyweight star Lei’D Tapa makes her eagerly anticipated return to professional MMA competition at the July 30th RIZIN Fighting Federation 6 event when she battles the number-one welterweight fighter in the world, King Reina. The pair will meet in an openweight contest.
Ahead of the bout, Tapa (0-1 Pro) recently gave her thoughts on her upcoming opponent King Reina (4-0 Pro) in an interview with RIZIN’s official website. The 34-year-old is full of confidence and promises to make the welterweight star “bow down”.
“My thoughts on King Reina is that she has goals just like me in MMA. She seems tough but, not tougher than me the one and only Lei’D Tapa Queen Of Rings. I’ve been patiently waiting for my time to fight. My time is now and I’m Ready!!! Ready to Dominate, ready for battle, ready to showcase my growth and skills of a MMA fighter. Fight my Fight. what I’ve been training to do, ready to be Victorious! Ready to make King Reina BowDown” Tapa said.
Tapa, born in Germany, is a professional wrestler who has previously competed for TNA Wrestling. She made her professional MMA debut back in December 2015 when she took part in the first ever mainstream women’s heavyweight fight, losing out to Gabi Garcia by way of a first round TKO. To date she has been Garcia’s toughest opponent and even managed to knock the Brazilian down. She has been working on her game ever since and now feels ready to show of her improved skill-set to the world.
RIZIN Fighting Federation 6 takes place on July 30th from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. The event will be aired live on pay-per-view.
