A women’s atomweight bout will feature on the Combate Americas 17 event this Friday when Kyra Batara takes on Jenna Serio.
Batara (6-4-0) is currently undefeated with Combate, picking up four career victories with the organization. The 22-year-old owns notable wins over Jenny Silverio, Liz McCarthy, Celine Haga and Nicdali Rivera-Calanoc. She believes she is the best atomweight fighter in the world and feels as though she has made dramatic improvements to her MMA game since when she first started as a professional back in 2014.
Serio (3-2-0) returns from a 15-month layoff, after losing her Combate debut to Paulina Granados in June 2016. Prior to joining the promotion, she had picked up notable stoppage victories over Jill Valenzuela and Sadee Monseratte Williams. The 25-year-old, also known as “Savage”, now looks to rebound from her June loss and show the world why she is one of the best 105-pound fighters in the world.
“Combate 17: El Grito En La Jaula” takes place this Friday September 15 from the Splash Kingdom Waterpark in Redlands, California, United States. The event will be aired live on Azteca America, ESPN Latin America and the ESPN App.
