A women’s openweight fight between undefeated King Reina and heavyweight competitor Lei’D Tapa has been set for the July 30th RIZIN FF 6 event.
Reina (4-0 Pro) is currently the number one 170-pound women’s welterweight fighter in the world. The 20-year-old is coming off an impressive first round TKO victory over Kristin Handel this past weekend at the DEEP JEWELS 16 event. The “King” has looked nothing short of sensational in all her performances. She made her professional debut in November 2016, submitting Eriko Iwamoto in the first round, following an Armbar. She followed up in February as she dominated a UFC veteran in Shayna Baszler to pick up the unanimous decision victory. Back in April she defied all odds when she competed in an openweight contest, successfully submitting a heavyweight competitor in Jazzy Gabert via second round submission. Her latest victory over Handel only cements her position as one of MMA’s next big superstars.
Tapa (0-1 Pro) is a professional wrestler who has previously competed for TNA Wrestling. She made her professional MMA debut back in December 2015 when she took part in the first ever mainstream women’s heavyweight fight, losing out to Gabi Garcia by way of a first round TKO. To date she has been Garcia’s toughest opponent and even managed to knock the Brazilian down in the first round. She has been working on her game ever since and now feels ready to show of her improved skills to the world.
RIZIN Fighting Federation 6 takes place on July 30th from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. The event will be aired live on pay-per-view.
