Tonight at RIZIN FF 6 (also known as ‘RIZIN Fighting World Grand Prix 2017 1st Round’), an eagerly anticipated women’s welterweight vs heavyweight fight between King Reina and Lei’D Tapa will take place.
The entire event, which features eleven fights in total, will be aired live on pay-per-view from 1am EST, 10pm PST. The PPV can be purchased below.
Reina (4-0 Pro) is the number-one ranked women’s welterweight fighter in the world. The 21-year-old is coming off an impressive first round TKO victory over Kristin Handel at the DEEP JEWELS 16 event in May. The “King” has looked nothing short of sensational in all her career victories. She made her professional debut last November, submitting Eriko Iwamoto in the first round by way of an armbar. She followed up in February, dominating a UFC veteran in Shayna Baszler to pick up the unanimous decision victory. Her most notable victory comes this past April when she she defied all odds, successfully submitting a much larger heavyweight competitor in Jazzy Gabert via second round armbar.
Tapa (0-1 Pro) is a professional wrestler who has recently been doing work for the WWE. She made her professional MMA debut back in December 2015 when she took part in the first ever mainstream women’s heavyweight fight, losing out to Gabi Garcia by way of a first round TKO. To date she has been Garcia’s toughest opponent and even managed to knock the Brazilian down in the first round. She has been working on her game ever since and now feels ready to show of her improved skills to the world. She is the number-seven ranked heavyweight fighter in the world.
RIZIN Fighting Federation 6 takes place tonight from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
