King Reina will return to MMA action this Sunday when she battles Lei’d Tapa at the “RIZIN Fighting World Grand Prix 2017 1st Round” event (also known as RIZIN FF 6). The bout will be serve as a special welterweight VS heavyweight match-up.
Reina (4-0) was recently asked about Lei’D Tapa during an interview with RIZIN’s official website. She admits she never watches footage of her opponents and doesn’t even know who Tapa is.
“I don’t even know who she is. I don’t really care. You decide if she is a tough fighter or not after watching me fight her” Reina said when asked about her opinions on Tapa.
“I never study my opponents. What I do isn’t going to change, and even if I study my opponents, nothing I do during the fight won’t change. All I do is to look at my bad habits and try to adjust them” the 21-year-old continued.
The King is currently the number-one ranked 170-pound welterweight fighter in the world. Since making her pro debut back in November 2016 she’s taken out Eriko Iwamoto, Shayna Baszler, Jazzy Gabert and Kristin Handel.
Meanwhile, Tapa is a pro-wrestler turned mixed martial arts. She made her professional debut in December of 2015, losing out to Gabi Garcia in the first round. She is the number-seven ranked heavyweight fighter in the world.
