King Reina is set to compete on the DEEP JEWELS 16 card on May 20, the news was confirmed by the organization earlier today. An opponent has not yet been named.
The “King” is currently 3-0 in her professional mixed martial arts career and has looked nothing short of sensational in all her performances. She made her professional debut in November 2016, submitting Eriko Iwamoto in the first round, following an Armbar. This past February she dominated a UFC veteran in Shayna Baszler to pick up the unanimous decision victory, and this past Sunday’s victory over Gabert is another huge one for the rising 20-year-old star.
Reina has made it no secret that she plans to be the woman to put the 155-pound lightweight division on the map. Much like in the way that Ronda Rousey did for the 135-pound bantamweight division and Cris Cyborg with the 145-pound featherweight division. She possesses world-class Judo skills, as displayed by the way she was able to takedown her heavyweight opponent with ease. She is currently the number three ranked 155-pound lightweight competitor in the world, behind Bobbi-Jo Dalziel and Sarah Patterson.
DEEP JEWELS 16 takes place on May 20 from the Shinjuku FACE in Tokyo, Japan. The event will be streamed live online.
