UFC legend Kenny Florian is not happy with UFC featherweight champion Germaine de Randamie refusing to fight Cris Cyborg.
Last week, De Randamie’s manager revealed the champion did not want to fight Cyborg because of her past use of performance enhancing drugs. He also said De Randamie would rather be stripped of the title than have to fight the powerful Brazilian. Since then De Randamie herself has come forward and revealed she is moving back down to the 135-pound bantamweight division.
On a recent episode of Jon Anik and Kenny Florian’s podcast, Florian ranted about De Randamie’s refusal to defend her belt against Cyborg.
“She never wanted to fight Cyborg” Florian said. “Listen you’re the champion, and if she’s an eligible fighter, you have to fight her. What is going on with all these champions saying ‘they don’t want to fight this guy’.”
“When Germaine de Randamie has the opportunity to fight one of the most dominant, or perhaps the most dominant, mixed martial arts female fighter of all time and cement her legacy as champion, you have to take that fight,” Florian said.
