Karolina Kowalkiewicz has released an emotional statement after losing to Yan Xiaonan at this past Saturday’s UFC Auckland event.
Kowalkiewicz (12-6-0) lost a unanimous decision to Xiaonan, suffering her fourth consecutive loss. The 34-year-old had a noticeable issue with her right eye during the fight.
A day after the fight, Kowalkiewicz took to her Instagram page to release an emotional post-fight statement.
“Hi guys. Thank you for your support. First time in my life after fight I cannot say that I’m okay. In the beginning of first-round I have broken small bone here [below right eye]. I couldn’t see nothing. My vision was double.” she said.
“After fight I spent all day in hospital. Today I am going to specialist and they will make decision. Because I need operation, I am waiting for decision here. I [want to] come back to Poland and make operation in Poland, but doctors said I have to stay here because flying with this eye is very dangerous.” she continued.
