Karolina Kowalkiewicz releases emotional statement following UFC Auckland loss: “First time in my life after fight I cannot say I’m okay”

Karolina Kowalkiewicz has released an emotional statement after losing to Yan Xiaonan at this past Saturday’s UFC Auckland event.

Kowalkiewicz lost a unanimous decision to Xiaonan at UFC Auckland.

Kowalkiewicz (12-6-0) lost a unanimous decision to Xiaonan, suffering her fourth consecutive loss. The 34-year-old had a noticeable issue with her right eye during the fight.

A day after the fight, Kowalkiewicz took to her Instagram page to release an emotional post-fight statement.

Hi guys. Thank you for your support. First time in my life after fight I cannot say that I’m okay. In the beginning of first-round I have broken small bone here [below right eye]. I couldn’t see nothing. My vision was double.” she said.

After fight I spent all day in hospital. Today I am going to specialist and they will make decision. Because I need operation, I am waiting for decision here. I [want to] come back to Poland and make operation in Poland, but doctors said I have to stay here because flying with this eye is very dangerous.” she continued.

Take a look at the statement in video form below:

    1. she looks like she was in a car crash! poor lil polish girl. went up against a likely chemically enhanced chinawoman.
She is cute even when beat up: “flying with this eye is very dangerous”. aww. lost 6 of last 8, the andrade fight took her soul.
she lost to everyone i’d expect to, and no surprises in her wins either.
won against felice (experienced but non explosive, older) Jodie (t-rex arms), and lost against the absolute Top Guns of WMMA. Joanna, Claudia, Jessica Andrade, Michelle, Alexa, and now Xiaonan. Karolina is squarely in the lower bracket of the upper class of fighters. Can beat the low and middle ones, but can’t beat the best. At 34 she has a lot of miles (or , being European, kilometers) on her body, and she’s getting shattered every time out. Maybe a trip to the minors like Invicta where she can rack up wins, or be sacrificed to young lions. Love you KK!

  1. I feel very sorry for Karolina, as she is one of my favorite fighters. However, I think she shouldn’t have been allowed to continue the fight, as after round 1 it was already clear that her eye had a serious issue. Doesn’t make any sense to risk a serious injury and a long layoff for a single fight. Even more so considering that her chances of winning with such an injury were close to zero.

  2. You’re ignorance may show your likely to be on drugs yourself!!
You show by your ignorant comments Joolz that you have diarrhea of the mouth.
It’s part of fighting that fighters get hurt, to accuse a fighter because she won no matter the nationality of cheating again shows your ignorance! Stfu and clam your dirt hole!!
