Undefeated Justine Kish competes in the biggest fight of her career this Sunday when she battles Felice Herrig on the UFC Fight Night 112 main card.
A victory for Kish (6-0) would put her comfortably in the top fifteen of the UFC’s official strawweight world rankings, her opponent Herrig (12-6) is currently ranked at number 13.
“It still feels like a long time because I can’t wait,” Kish told Gaston Gazette in a recent interview. “This is kind of slow to me because I just want to be in there and compete. Every opportunity is special and I treat everything like a championship because a loss could cost me a championship.”
Kish has won her last two fights by way of unanimous decisions, the 29-year-old is determined to pick up the finish on Sunday.
“In the last two fights I got unanimous decisions,” Kish said. “This time around I want a better finish. I want to get a submission or a knockout.
“I’ve done everything possible in my training. The hardest thing for me to do is to relax. I just have to breathe and relax.”
“You have to be the most observant, the most athletic and the most prepared every night or you’ll get beat,” Kish said. “The talent is too good.”
UFC Fight Night 112 takes place this Sunday 25th June from the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States. The event will be aired live on Fox Sports 1.
