This Saturday’s UFC 239 event features an intriguing bantamweight contest on the early preliminary card when Julia Avila makes her promotional debut to take on Pannie Kianzad.
Avila (6-1) makes her UFC debut after picking up an impressive two-fight win streak with Invicta FC, knockout victories over Ashley Deen and Alexa Conners. The 31-year-old, also known as the ‘Raging Panda’, owns notable wins against Marion Reneau and Nicco Montano.
Kianzad (11-4) was last seen in the cage at the TUF 28 final in November, failing to earn a UFC contract after losing by way of a submission to Macy Chiasson. She has since rebounded with a unanimous decision win against Iony Razafiarison at the Superior Challenge 19 event this past May, resulting in a UFC contract.
UFC 239 takes place this Saturday July 6 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. The early preliminary card featuring Avila vs. Kianzad will be aired live on UFC Fight Pass from 6:30pm EST.
