Joanne Calderwood vs. Andrea Lee targeted for UFC 242

First reported by MMA Junkie, a flyweight bout between Joanne Calderwood and Andrea Lee is in the works for UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi on Sept. 7.

Calderwood (13-4) will look to get back in the win column after dropping a decision to Katlyn Chookagian at UFC 238. Prior that, she went 2-0 in the flyweight division.

Lee (11-2) will look to keep her momentum going versus the Scottish striker. The Invicta vet has yet to taste defeat in the UFC and owns Octagon wins over Veronica Macedo, Ashlee Evans-Smith, and most recently, Montana de la Rosa.

  1. That’s a tough call, but I’ll be rooting for KGB. With a 4 fight win streak, that should put her in contention for a title shot.

    1. I don’t think think they would give her a shot before Roxanne , if Roxanne beats Maia in that rematch, but you never know.

    1. Assuming both won their respective fights, it would be an interesting choice. Roxy is 1-2 in her last 4 fights while KGB is on a 6 fight win streak.. However, Roxy has lost to higher ranked opponents. Then again, they could throw a monkey wrench into and give it to Katlyn. At least Val has some prospective, if not highly competitive, opponents for the foreseeable future.
