This Saturday’s UFC 242 event in Abu Dhabi features an exciting and highly pivotal women’s flyweight bout on the preliminary card when Joanne Calderwood takes on Andrea Lee.
Calderwood (13-4-0) looks to rebound from a split decision loss to Katlyn Chookagian at the UFC 238 event this past June. Prior to the defeat, the 33-year-old was enjoying a perfect run at 125-pounds with wins over Kalindra Faria and Ariane Lipski.
Lee (11-2-0) is currently on a seven-fight win streak and since debuting with the UFC in May 2018, has gone 3-0 with dominant wins over Veronica Macedo, Ashlee-Evans Smith and Montana De La Rosa. The 30-year-old, a former LFA world champion, is being highly tipped as a potential challenge to UFC flyweight champ, Valentina Shevchenko. An impressive victory on Saturday would most certainly cement KGB’s position as a top contender to the belt.
UFC 242 takes place this Saturday September 7, 2019, from The Arena, Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The preliminary card featuring Jojua vs. Moras will be aired live on ESPN+ from 12pm EST.
