Joanna Jedrzejczyk has her sights set on recapturing the UFC strawweight title and is confident she can get the job done against the reigning champion, Zhang Weili.
Jedrzejczyk (16-3) says she was not surprised by Zhang’s first-round knockout defeat of Jessica Andrade to claim the belt. The 32-year-old discussed this past August’s upset during a recent chat with MMA News.
“She made it. I was very impressed. Actually, the day before her fight [with Andrade], I said that she was going to win, that she was going to surprise, and she did. But I can see some gaps, I can see good and bad sides [of her game].” she said.
Although Jedrzejczyk is impressed with Weili, she is very confident she can take the belt from her when the two meet.
“She’s explosive, her punches are juicy, crispy, she has knockout power behind her punches,” she said. “She’s young, she’s hungry. But I know I’m better. I’m the more well-rounded fighter.”
