Joanna Jedrzejczyk will attempt to make the sixth defense of her UFC strawweight title on November 4th when she takes on Rose Namajunas at UFC 217.
Jedrzejczyk (14-0) last competed at May’s UFC 211 event, defeating Jessica Andrade via unanimous decision to retain the belt. The 30-year-old won the strawweight title from Carla Esparza in March 2015 and has gone on to defend the belt against the likes of Claudia Gadelha, Karolina Kowalkiewicz, Jessica Penne and Valerie Letourneau.
Namajunas (6-3) is 4-1 in her last five fights, with the sole loss being to Karolina Kowalkiewicz by way of a split decision. The 25-year-old will attempt to challenge for the belt a second time, following an unsuccessful attempt in her UFC debut back in 2014, after being choked out by Carla Esparza. She has since gone on to defeat the likes of Michelle Waterson, Tecia Torres, Paige VanZant and Angela Hill.
UFC 217 takes place on November 4 from the Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, United States. The event will be aired live on pay-per-view.
