JJ Aldrich meets 19-year-old UFC newcomer Chan-Mi Jeon in New Zealand

JJ Aldrich (4-2) will make her sophomore UFC appearance in at UFC Fight Night 110 in New Zealand. Aldrich was originally scheduled to face newcomer Nadia Kassem (4-0) but an undisclosed injury has forced Kassem off the card.Fortunately, the UFC were able to find a short-notice replacement in the form of Chan-Mi Jeon (5-0).

After competing on Team Joanna on TUF 23, JJ Aldrich made her official UFC debut against Brazil’s Juliana Lima in December of 2016, losing a unanimous decision. Despite losing her debut, the Invicta vet is only 24-years-old and holds a lot of promise.

South Korea’s Chan-Mi Jeon holds an impressive record of five wins and no defeats– four of those wins coming by first round knockout. She last faced Megumi Yabushita in September of 2016, TKOing her in under three minutes. Jeon has competed both at 115-pounds and 125-pounds.

UFC Fight Night takes place at the Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand on June 11th (*Note: due to the time difference the card will air on the 10th in the U.S.)

Are you excited for this match up?

  1. I, for one, am looking forward to this fight. I was actually hoping Jeon would make the TUF 26 casting call but I guess she didn’t have enough notice. She’s big for 115, but I guess we’ll find out how legit her record is shortly.
