Jinh Yu Frey out of Invicta FC 37, Pearl Gonzalez vs. Brogan Walker-Sanchez promoted to main event

Just days before Invicta FC 37, atomweight champion Jinh Yu Frey has been forced to withdraw.

Frey was scheduled to make the second defense of her atomweight championship versus top contender Ashley “Smashley” Cummins.

The promotion released a press release on Monday stating that Frey’s withdrawal is caused by injury.

The co-main event, a flyweight contest between Pearl Gonzalez and Brogan Walker-Sanchez, will now serve as the headliner.

Gonzalez is 3-1 in Invicta since leaving the UFC. The sole loss of her Invicta career came by way of technical decision to Vanessa Porto in a flyweight championship match.

Walker-Sanche is a perfect 6-0 as a pro. “Killer Bee” last fought at Invicta FC 30, defeating Miranda Maverick by split-decision.

Who will you be rooting for?

  1. Bummers about Jinh Yu. Was looking forward to seeing her back in the cage. Hope she recovers soon.

Dang! Women and their hair. They’re always throwing me for a loop. I thought that was Brogan when I first looked at it as I always associate Pearl with light brown wavy/curly hair. I hope I can tell the difference between them when they fight. Looking for to it either way.

  2. Defintiley feel for Frey and Cummins! Man, do I love Pearl though! She is one of my all time favorites. Just adore everything about her and cant wait for her to get back in the title picture!
