This Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 133 event features a strawweight contest on its early preliminary card when Jessica Aguilar returns to take on Jodie Esquibel.
Aguilar (19-6) will be searching for her first UFC victory after dropping back-to-back decisions to Claudia Gadelha and Cortney Casey. The 36-year-old, who trains at the American Top Team, received a lot of hype prior to entering the UFC as she was the WSOF strawweight champion and owns career wins over the likes of Carla Esparza, Kalindra Faria, Emi Fujino and Lisa Ellis.
Esquibel (6-3) makes her second promotional appearance after dropping a unanimous decision to Karolina Kowalkiewicz in her debut. The 32-year-old Jackson-Wink MMA fighter enjoyed success as an atomweight before making the move up to 115-pounds and most notably owns a victory over one of the best 105-pound fighters in the world, Jinh Yu Frey.
UFC Fight Night 133 takes place this Saturday July 14 from the CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho, United States. The early preliminary card featuring Aguilar vs. Esquibel airs live on UFC Fight Pass from 6:30pm EST.
