Jamie Colleen earns submission victory at “Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Week 6”

Jamie Colleen emerged victorious in tonight’s live episode of “Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series”. The 31-year-old submitted Tiffany Masters in the third round by way of an armbar.

Big win for Jamie Colleen tonight.

The first two rounds saw Masters attempting to wear Colleen down with her wrestling, including lots of ground-and-pound and several submission attempts. Colleen was able to weather the storm and in round-three locked in a brutal armbar which resulted in Masters verbally tapping out. Despite the big win, UFC president Dana White decided not to sign Colleen. However, the former King of the Cage world champion is no doubt on the organization’s radar after putting in such an impressive performance.

Colleen (4-1) is a striker out of Philadelphia who now trains at the Renzo Gracie Academy in New York City. Colleen has already competed against some of the best athletes in the world, best evidenced by a pair of bouts against current UFC strawweight Danielle Taylor, who she defeated by knockout in 2015.

Despite being new to the sport, Colleen already has championship experience as well, with three of her fights being scheduled for five rounds whilst competing for King of the Cage. She has a 100% finish rate, finishing all her career victories by way of knockouts.

Fight fans, did Colleen’s performance impress you? Does she deserve a UFC contract? Let us know in the comments section below.

  1. I found it disappointing that few women were represented in the contender series, and even more so that one that was featured, a striker that finished her opponent who was a known grappler, much like how Shevchenko finished Pena, was not chosen to join the UFC.

  2. i was not impressed by the grappler – striker mismatch. the older striker should have had a holly holm or joanna jedrjezczyk level of takedown defense, but Jamie was practically losing the entire fight, even in the striking department. I i like her, i like her story, and she is a total hotty (hoo hoo so pretty!) but she doesn’t seem to have the anti-grappling that strikers today must have. She won by accident- the young kid shouldn’t have been going so aggressively for a fnish, because she had dominated and bloodied jamie in 1 and 2. good luck to jamie, she can get her rematch with old girl, but due to her low # of fights, may have only a 2010 era skill set to deal with 2017 era threats
