Irene Aldana reacts to Bethe Correia pulling out of January 2018 fight

UFC bantamweight Irene Aldana has reacted to Bethe Correia’s withdrawal from their upcoming fight.

Earlier today Bethe Correia revealed that she will need to have emergency surgery due to an accident and must withdraw from her unannounced January 2018 fight against Aldana.

Aldana (7-4) has reacted to the news on her social media pages. The 29-year-old Mexican sends ‘good vibes’ Correia’s way and is hopeful the pair will battle each other in the future.

We already had a fight vs. Bethe “Pitbull” Correia for January 2018. Unfortunately my opponent just had an accident. I thank you for your message but most of all I wish you a very speedy recovery, health is first and I hope you are well. I was very excited to be able to face an opponent like her. So I hope we can do this fight later. I send very good vibes to bethe and we will be waiting for news for my next fight” Aldana wrote on her Facebook page.

  1. With so many BW’s dropping to 125, perhaps its time for the UFC to bring back Sarah Kaufman. A fight against Irene would be a good welcome back test. Still not sure why they dropped her in the first place, although to be honest, at 5’5″ and her build, she should probably be fighting at 125 as well. If not, Marion Reneau should make for a suitable replacement for Bethe. I think they last fought to a tie and are ranked pretty closely.
