Invicta champ Virna Jandiroba replaces Livia Souza vs. Carla Esparza

The current Invicta FC strawweight champion, Virna Jandiroba, will be making her UFC debut against former Invicta and UFC strawweight champion Carla Esparza at UFC Fort Lauderdale on April 27.

The unbeaten Jandiroba (14-0) will be replacing an injured Livinha Souza (13-1).

Jandiroba captured the Invicta strawweight title at Invicta FC 28 by defeating Mizuki. She retained the title with a submission win over Janasia Morandin at Invicta FC 31. 11 of her 14 pro career wins come by way of submission.

Esparza (13-6) will look to snap a two-fight skid including losses to Claudia Gadelha and Tatiana Suarez. She is the inaugural UFC women’s strawweight champion and has remained a staple in the divisions top ten since its inception.

  1. Man, Invicta just can not keep the very good strawweights for long ! I kinda feel bad for Invicta ! Shame about Souza ! I was really looking forward to that match against Esparza. I think she would have KOed Esparza !
