An Invicta champion is headed to the UFC.
First reported by MMA Junkie, Invicta atomweight champion Jinh Yu Frey (9-4) has signed a UFC deal and will face fellow former Invicta fighter Kay Hansen (6-3) in a strawweight contest.
Frey’s manager, Oren Hodak, confirmed the matchup to MMA Junkie.
Since capturing Invicta atomweight gold in 2018, Frey has competed four times— winning three bouts in Invicta and losing one in RIZIN. Frey joined Invicta in 2014 and has been a top atomweight since. This Saturday will be her first fight at strawweight.
Hansen announced her UFC contract on Sunday. The 20-year-old prospect currently rides a three-fight win streak, last having competed in March.
