Unbeaten Bellator flyweight champion Ilima-Lei Macfarlane will look to make a third succesful title defense later this year, this time versus Veta Arteaga.
The title bout was announced during the Bellator 214 broadcast on Saturday.
Macfarlane (9-0) scored the biggest win of her career when she submitted Valerie Letoureau in December to defend her flyweight title on home turf in Hawaii. The 28-year-old is without a doubt one of Bellator’s brightest homegrown stars.
Arteaga (5-2) is 4-2 under the Bellator banner. She enters the bout riding a two-fight win streak– a decision over Emily Ducote and a submission over Denise Keilholtz.
This bout is scheduled to serve as the co-main event at Bellator’s April 27 event at the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif.
