ICYMI: Nicco Montano returns at bantamweight, meets Sara McMann

Former UFC Flyweight Champion Nicco Montano is finally returning to the Octagon. And this time, she’s fighting at bantamweight.

After injuries, an USADA violation, being stripped of the flyweight title, and many people questioning the future of her fighting career, Montano is fighting on the upcoming UFC Sacramento card. Her opponent is former bantamweight title contender Sara McMann.

Montano (4-2) hasn’t fought since she won The Ultimate Fighter Flyweight Tournament on December 1, 2017, against Roxanne Modafferi. Due to her inactivity, she was lost the title, now worn by Valentina Shevchenko.

McMann (11-5) is returning from maternity leave on a two-fight skid against Ketlen Viera and Marion Reneau. Her last fight against Reneau was in February of 2018.

During her time away from the Octagon, McMann competed at Quintet 3 in Tokyo on UFC Fight Pass.

UFC Sacramento is scheduled to take place on July 13 and to air entirely on ESPN+.

Who do you think will win this one– Montano at the new weight class or the mother of two
McMann?
