Muay Thai phenom Antonina Shevchenko may soon be joining her sister Valentina on the UFC roster.Late last week, sources confirmed that the older Shevchenko sister is expected to appear on the upcoming summer season of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series (DWTNCS). First reported by Raphael Marinho via Twitter, it looks like Shevchenko will compete at 125 pounds on the show.
It is to be noted that the majority of Shevchenko’s Muay Thai and MMA bouts have been conducted at 135-140 pounds.
The 33-year-old Kyrgyzstan-native is scheduled to defend her Muay Thai championship in the headliner at Lion Fight’s 42 on April 21. She has competed in Muay Thai for over 14 years. “Pantera” has dabbled into MMA where she holds an undefeated record of 4-0.
DWTNCS airs on UFC Fight Pass. The program debuted last year to help discover top talent not currently signed to the UFC. UFC standout Sean O’Malley and UFC flyweight Lauren Mueller are products of the first season.
