How much did the women of Bellator 238 get paid? Official fighter salaries have been released

Bellator 238 took place this past Saturday January 25, 2020, from the The Forum in Inglewood, California, United States.

The official Bellator 238 salaries were released on Tuesday by the California State Athletic Commission, first reported by MMA Fighting.

Julia Budd was the highest paid on the card, earning $350,000. Meanwhile, Cris Cyborg, who ended Budd’s reign as champion, bagged $250,000 with no win bonus.

Boxing star Ava Knight received $5,000 for her opening main card bout, whilst the woman who beat her, Emilee King, earned $3,000, as well as a $3,000 win bonus, equating to $6,000.

Please note that the reported figures do not necessarily represent the full pay. Sponsorship incomes, pay-per-view bonuses and discretionary post-fight bonuses are not publicly disclosed.

  1. Same rhetoric every time MMA salaries are released and for whatever reason, the social media MMA fans overlook the clear phrase “GUARANTEED MINIMUM PAY” meaning that is the least amount those fighters were paid.

  2. Not only the girls. Poor Jason King (literally). PPV bonuses and such probably go to Cyborg and Budd. I don’t think that many buy a PPV to see Jason King or Ava Knight fight. Even so, you more than two fighters to make for a three hour event, so I hope that those not named Cyborg or Budd get a bid of that money as well.
