This Saturday’s UFC 225 pay-per-view main card features an exciting women’s featherweight fight between Holly Holm and promotional newcomer Megan Anderson.
Holm (11-4) was unsuccessful in her attempt to capture the UFC featherweight title this past December, losing a unanimous decision to Cris Cyborg. Despite the loss, fans have been full of praise for Holm due to the fact she was the first person to ever take Cyborg to a fifth round. The 36-year-old, also known as “The Preacher’s Daughter”, was a multiple time boxing world champion before joining the sport of MMA and has since picked up UFC wins over the likes of Ronda Rousey, Raquel Pennington, Marion Reneau and Bethe Correia.
Anderson (7-2) returns to MMA competition following almost a year and a half away from the sport. The 28-year-old Australian makes her promotional debut and in her last showing captured the Invicta FC featherweight belt after knocking out Charmaine Tweet in the second round.
UFC 225 takes place this Saturday June 9 from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, United States. The main card featuring Holm vs. Anderson will be aired live on pay-per-view from 10pm EST.
