Holly Holm moves back down to bantamweight, takes on undefeated Aspen Ladd at UFC 235 on March 2

A women’s bantamweight bout between Holly Holm and Aspen Ladd has been added to the UFC 235 event on March 2. The news was first reported on Friday afternoon by MMAJunkie.

Holm returns to the bantamweight divison at UFC 235 on March 2 2019.

Holm (12-4) moves back down to bantamweight after back-to-back bouts at featherweight in which she lost a decision to Cris Cyborg but won a decision over Megan Anderson. The 37-year-old has won two of her last three and notably knocked out Bethe Correia with her trademark head kick in the headlining bout of the UFC Fight Night 111 event in June 2017. The former UFC bantamweight champion, who captured the belt after knocking out Ronda Rousey in 2015, owns additional promotional victories over Raquel Pennington and Marion Reneau.

Ladd (7-0) is 2-0 since signing with the UFC with back-to-back ground-and-pound stoppages over Lina Lansberg and Tonya Evinger. Prior to joining the UFC, the undefeated 23-year-old was dominating the competition at Invicta FC and owns wins over the likes of Sijara Eubanks, Amanda Cooper and Jessica Hoy.

    1. holly is getting out of the 145 zone before the cyborg – amanda fight goes down. Holly lost to cyborg once but she doesnt’ want any more of that again.

    1. i don’t really like fights with big age differences. holly is on the wrong side of37 as they say, and aspen is 23, 14 years difference.
