Holly Holm and Roxanne Modafferi have moved up in the UFC’s official rankings following big victories at this past Saturday’s ‘UFC 246: McGregor vs. Cowboy’ event.
In the UFC 246 co-main event, Holm (13-5-0) earned the unanimous decision win over Raquel Pennington. The victory moves up Holly Holm to the number-two position in the UFC’s official bantamweight contender rankings. The 38-year-old sits just behind former opponent, Germaine de Randamie. The division’s champion is the current pound-for-pound greatest female fighter on the planet, Amanda Nunes.
In the featured UFC 246 prelim bout, Modafferi (24-16-0) picked up a huge upset win over Maycee Barber, dominating her for the unanimous decision. The victory moves Modafferi up to the number-five position in the UFC’s official flwyeight contender rankings. She sits behind Jennifer Maia, Joanne Calderwood, Jessica Eye and Katlyn Chookagian. The division’s champ is Valentina Shevchenko, who fights number-one contender Katlyn Chookagian at next month’s UFC 247 event.
