Veronica Futina has become the latest female heavyweight fighter to join the Gladiator Fight Team.
Futina is currently training for her MMA debut which will most likely be for RIZIN Fighting Federation, much like the other female heavyweights from the team. The 31-year-old’s list of accolades in combat sports is endless. She is a 2x world champion in hand-to-hand fighting, 4x champion in Russian hand-to-hand fighting, 2x European champion in hand-to-hand fighting and a champion in Russian Judo. Maliukova made her MMA debut in September 2015, defeating Tatiana Portnova via unanimous decision. She followed up in April 2016, losing out to Gabi Garcia by way of a second round submission. To date, she is the only woman to take Garcia to the second-round.
Gagloeva, a multiple time Russian champion in boxing, made her MMA debut last month at the RIZIN FF 6 event against Gabi Garcia. The fight was stopped at just 16-seconds of the very first round due to an accidental eye-poke from Garcia. Gagloeva has since revealed she is keen for a rematch.
