Germaine de Randamie has revealed that she would be more than willing to accept a UFC bantamweight title shot against Amanda Nunes.
De Randamie (9-3-0) is coming off a first-round TKO win over Aspen Ladd in the main event of this past Saturday’s UFC Sacramento event.
The 35-year-old already fought Nunes once before, losing by way of a ground-and-pound stoppage back in 2013. ‘The Iron Lady’, who infamously refused to fight Cyborg back in 2017, believes a second fight against Nunes would be a very different one to the first.
“Of course I would accept a fight with Amanda,” de Randamie told MMA Fighting’s Eurobash podcast. “Everyone knows, for me it would be an honor to be in the cage with such great champion. It would be honor to try to redeem [my loss to her].”
“I remember [she took me down]. That’s the fun thing; I’m not that fighter anymore and Amanda is not that fighter anymore too. I believe this is going to be a way different fight. I’m not that easy to takedown anymore, in that fight I was easy to take down, but now I’m not that easy to takedown. I know Amanda is a great champion and I know this would be a great matchup,” said de Randamie. “ I got the utmost respect for her. I said it the other day, there is no doubt about it, she is a true champion and she is one of the best ever. But everyone is beatable, I keep saying that.”
