Tiburcio is currently expecting a child and has taken a hiatus from MMA competition.

Tiburcio (11-4) opened up about her unexpected pregnancy during a recent interview with Ag. Fight.

It was a big surprise. I did not expect it at all. Neither I nor Bruno [‘Jacaré’ Dias, also an MMA fighter]. But we are very happy and now I’m going to take a vacation and once I have my son and my body can go back to training strong, I’m going back to the competitions” she said.

The 25-year-old revealed that her next fight was scheduled to be for the vacant Invicta FC atomweight title, however she is fine with having to postpone the opportunity ‘for a much bigger’ dream.

My next fight would already be for the Invicta belt. There was no date yet, but it would be later this year and it would be my chance. But I’ll postpone this dream for a much bigger reason [laughs], I’ve already told the event staff, and the boss [Shannon Knapp] was super happy. She answered an email saying that she was happy and that as soon as I return she is to warn that she puts me to fight” Tiburcio revealed.

Tiburcio is currently the number-three ranked atomweight fighter in the world, according to the WMMA world rankings. She won the Invicta FC atomweight title in December 2014, submitting Michelle Waterson by way of a rear-naked choke. She lost the belt to Ayaka Hamasaki in 2015 via a close split decision. The Brazilian has since put herself on an impressive two-fight win streak with victories over Simona Soukupova and Tessa Simpson.
