On August 30th, The Ultimate Fighter will return to television for it’s twenty-sixth season to deliver fight fans a combination of mixed martial arts action and reality television drama. This season’s coaches Eddie Alvarez (28-5) and Justin Gaethje (18-0) will look to guide female flyweight stars toward the inaugural (and long-awaited) UFC flyweight championship.
Prior to TUF 26’s premiere, WMMA Rankings will be analyzing each flyweight hopeful. Scroll down to learn more about more about “The Happy Warrior” Roxanne Modafferi!
One of the most popular names entering the TUF house this season is Roxanne Modafferi, who will be making history by entering the house for the second time. Modafferi previously competed on season 18 of TUF as a bantamweight but was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Jessica Rackozy. Slightly undersized for 135, Modafferi cut to 125 pounds and began her journey as a flyweight.
“The Happy Warrior” carries a wealth of experience. She holds a record of 23-13 and some of her notable victories include the likes of Marloes Coenen, Sarah D’Alelio, fellow TUF 26 cast member DeAnna Bennet, Tara LaRosa, Vanessa Porto.
Modafferi is a strong grappler who was often critiqued on her striking. Making a home at Syndicate MMA, “The Happy Warrior” has polished her striking skills, evident by her last fight– a TKO victory over Sarah D’Alelio at Invicta FC 23.
Modafferi’s quirky personality and friendly aura made her a fan favorite on TUF 18 house and in Invicta FC. Click here, to check out Roxanne’s personal blog.
