UFC strawweight Angela Hill has recieved a new opponent for her upcoming fight on Sept. 21 in Mexico City.
Promotional newcomer Ariane Carnelossi (12-1) will now face Angela Hill (9-7) in a strawweight bout. Former ONE Championship fighter Istela Nunes (7-1, 1 NC) was scheduled to face Hill, however, she was removed from the bout due to failed drug test per Combate.
More details on what substance was detected in Nunes’ system and what her sanction will be are not yet available.
When Hill steps into the Octagon in Mexico City, it will be her fourth appearance in 2019– the most of any female on the roster this year. She will look to bounce back from a loss to Yan Xiaonan that occured at UFC 238.
Carnelossi was set to make her UFC debut at flyweight against Talia Santos in Montevideo, however, a wrist injury forced Santos out of the bout and the UFC was able to find a new opponent on short notice. She will now resume her career at strawweight where her only pro loss comes to fellow UFC fighter Amanda Ribas.
