DWTNCS Season 2, Week 5 results: Maycee Barber defeats Jamie Colleen via third-round TKO, earns UFC contract

Tonight on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, strawweight hopefuls Maycee Barber and Jamie Colleen locked horns for a chance to earn a UFC contract.

Barber earns herself a UFC contract.

RECAP: Jamie is appearing on DWTNCS for the second time after competing last summer and defeating Tiffany Masters via armbar but failing to ink a contract. This time around, she takes on 20-year-old regional prospect Maycee Barber. Barber pushes Colleen against the fence and works some nice knees and elbows in the clinch. A few minutes later they separate— at distance Colleen is showing some solid pop in her punches. We go to the second round, and former middleweight champion Micheal Bisping is confident on commentary that Barber won that round. Maycee is mixing up her attack well— kicking low and high. With a little over a minute and a half left in the round, Barber secures nice outside trip takedown where she works from top for the remainder of the round. Barber is firmly in control. JC is winging shots but Barber is able to avoid them. With a about a minute left, MB takes Colleen down. She lands a vicious elbow from the top and cuts Colleen open! Referee Herb Dean steps in to stop the fight!

  • Maycee Barber def. Jamie Colleen via TKO (elbows) at 4:15 of round three
  • UFC president Dana White opts to hand Maycee Barber a UFC contract.

  1. Gotta mix those martial arts. if you don’t, you’ll be the striker who looks like a fool terrified of the takedown, and eventually always does. Gets outstruck by a wrestler in the process. Gotta make the other person fear the takedown too.
