Despite Ronda Rousey suffering two knockout losses in a row, she still remains one of MMA’s biggest stars and icons. And although her retirement seems imminent, UFC flyweight champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson has a few things to say about how she handles defeat.
In a new interview with Sports Illustrated, DJ stated,
“You look at Ronda Rousey. You got your ass beat, grow the f—k up. It happens. It’s mixed martial arts. I don’t want to be like that. If I lose, I’ll be like, I lost. Everybody f—ing loses. It’s part of the sport. Grow up. Look, Ronda, you lost two f—ing fights in a row, and you made more f—ing money than the women’s roster. You’ll be fine, don’t worry about it.”
Rousey (12-2-0) suffered her first defeat back in November 2015 when she was dominated and then brutally knocked out by Holly Holm in the second-round. She followed up with a 48-second TKO loss to Amanda Nunes this past December. UFC president Dana White has said that it is unlikely we will ever see Ronda fight again.
