UFC president Dana White has revealed that Valentina Shevchenko will definitely be receiving the next shot at the UFC flyweight title.
White was recently asked if Shevchenko would be next to challenge reigning champ, Nicco Montano, during an appearance on UFC Tonight.
“Yeah, she deserves the next title shot, and it’s gonna be ugly for that division with somebody like Shevchenko in it,” he said.
Last week Shevchenko (15-3) bloodied and battered Cachoeira at UFC Fight Night 125, before ultimately sinking in a rear-naked choke resulting in the second-round submission. The 29-year-old was considered the second best bantamweight fighter in the world, before making the move down to flyweight, having earnt notable wins over Holly Holm, Julianna Pena and Sarah Kaufman. The “Bullet” believes she is the best in the world at 125-pounds when facing women the same size as herself and she certainly made her case last weekend.
