Dana White says Holly Holm vs. Aspen Ladd is ‘not going to happen’

According to UFC President Dana White, a bantamweight matchup between Holly Holm and Aspen Ladd has been removed from UFC 235.

At the UFC 235 press conference on Thursday, a member of the media asked Dana White how come Holly Holm and Aspen Ladd were not in attendance at the conference.

White responded, “That fights not going to happen. We’re working on another fight for both of them.”

To clarify, White said Holm will not be on the 235 card at all.

The current card proceeds with three scheduled women’s bouts– Tecia Torres vs. Weili Zhang at strawweight, Polyana Viana vs. Hannah Cifers at strawweight, and Gina Mazany vs. Macy Chiasson at bantamweight.

UFC 235 takes place on March 2 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

  1. I’ll withhold judgement until I get the whole story, but on the face of it, it puts Dana in a very poor light, especially if what Aspen claims – that she knew nothing about it until after the announcement – is true.

    1. i’m okay with this. everyone wants to see the Ronda killers fight each other – holly is getting older and we want to see her and Amanda rock. If this fight never happened we’d be drprived of a great story. HOlly and Aspen have no story line at all. i don t even like the matchup – a very young girl vs a very old lady… the cancellation is disruptive but i’m okay w it

      1. That very young girl absolutely DESTROYED Tonya Evinger! And that old lady went the distance with Cyborg and made Megan Anderson look like an amateur and DESTROYED Rousey!

  2. Too bad, I was really looking forward to this fight. I think a legend like Holly vs an impressive young fighter like Aspen would have been a great matchup.
