Cris Cyborg still has an Amanda Nunes superfight in mind— and she’s bringing in former bantamweight title challenger Valentina Shevchenko to help her prepare for it.
Despite Amanda Nunes being scheduled to defend her bantamweight title at UFC 224 against Raquel Pennington, featherweight queenpin Cris Cyborg very much believes the Brazilian powerhouses will eventually showdown.
In fact, Cyborg has started to put together a camp for the fight. “After Holly Holm, I contacted Valentina for she can help my camp with Amanda,” Cyborg said.
The aforementioned Shevchenko is very familiar with Nunes— having gone the distance with the champ twice at bantamweight, losing two close decisions.
The former bantamweight title challenger and Muay Thai expert has since dropped to the flyweight division, where she is the number one ranked contender.
Cyborg is hoping for the Nunes fight to take place st UFC 226 on July 7.
