Tonight at UFC 214, an eagerly anticipated 145-pound contest will go down when Cris Cyborg battles Tonya Evinger for the vacant featherweight title.
Cyborg (17-1) is the number-one 145-pound featherweight fighter in the world, she is also arguably the pound-for-pound toughest female fighter on the planet. Her sole career loss came in her professional MMA debut, over ten years ago back in 2005. The 32-year-old has won featherweight world titles as part of Strikeforce and Invicta FC, she now looks to add the most prestigious belt in combat sports to her collection, the UFC world title.
Evinger (19-5), also known as “Triple Threat”, is a former Invicta FC bantamweight champion who is undefeated in her last eleven professional fights with an impressive 19-6 record. She has finished the likes of Irene Aldana, Cindy Dandois, Yana Kunitskaya and Julie Kedzie.
UFC 214 takes place from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, United States. The main card will be aired live love on pay-per-view from 10m ET / 7pm PT.
