UFC featherweight champion Cris Cyborg has assured fans that she will still fight Amanda Nunes in July.
This past Wednesday it was revealed that Cyborg will defend her title at the upcoming UFC 222 event on March 3 against Yana Kunitskaya. The announcement has left many fans wondering what is happening with the rumored July superfight between Cyborg and Nunes. The featherweight champ has taken to her social media pages to clarify.
“Guys, Max Holloway got hurt and UFC 222 needed help, I am just doing my job. I’m always training.. why not? See you at UFC 222, I did this for the team. Amanda [Nunes], don’t worry. You have girls coming for you like Cat Zingano and Ketlen Vieira. Our fight is still on the table for July!” Cyborg said.
