Contender Series 2020 Week 2 results

Contender Series 2020 Week 2 featured a strawweight bout between LFA strawweight champion Vanessa Demopoulos and Welsh fighter Cory McKenna. Check out the results below!

OFFICIAL RESULT: Cory McKenna def. Vanessa Demopoulos via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).

McKenna improves to 5-1, Demopoulos moves to 5-2.

At the end of the night, Dana White awarded McKenna with an UFC contract. She becomes the first Welsh woman on the roster.

  1. Mmm. I don’t like McKenna’s potential future in the shark tank that is the Strawweight division, though. With the exception of perhaps Nadia Kassem or Ariane Carnelossi, I’m not confident there’s a single fighter on the roster she’d beat. Not one. Let’s see though, I guess; I’d love to be wrong.

    1. I got one for ya ! She could possibly beat Miranda Granger who’s also from Contender Series ! πŸ™‚ Just depends if Granger is a strawweight or flyweight now. That fight she had against Hannah Goldy was supposed to be a one-off flyweight match, but some places are listing her upcoming fight against Nadia Kassem as a flyweight fight. I think that’s wrong though.
