Claudia Gadelha vs Nina Ansaroff booked for UFC 231 in December

An exciting strawweight showdown between former title challenger Claudia Gadelha and surging contener Nina Ansaroff has been booked for UFC 231 in Toronto, Canada, on Dec. 8.

Gadelha (16-3) returned to action after a brief hiatus to take a split-decision win from Carla Esparza in June. The Brazilian strawweght has long been a staple in the top five of the division. She boasts victories over Karolina Kowalkiewicz, Valerie Letourneau, Cortney Casey, Ayaka Hamasaki, and Jessica Aguilar on her resume.

American Top Team product Ansaraoff (9-5) will enter the bout riding a three-fight win streak. Her streak includes victories over Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger, Angela Hill, and most recently, Randa Markos. On the heels of her engagement to bantamweight champion, Amanda Nunes, Ansaroff can insert herself into title contention with a win over Gadelha in Toronto.

Several outlets reported the news on Wednesday.
