This week’s Bellator 209 event features a highly exciting and very pivotal featherweight bout on the main card when Cindy Dandois makes her promotional debut against the undefeated Olga Rubin.
Dandois (12-3) will be making her Bellator MMA debut following an impressive four-fight win streak, including three finishes. The 33-year-old is currently ranked number-four in the WMMA Featherweight World Rankings, having defeated some of the best 145-pound fighters of all time including Megan Anderson, Marloes Coenen, King Reina, Jorina Baars and Daria Ibragimova.
Rubin (4-0) has fought two of her four professional fights for the Bellator MMA organization, picking up impressive ground-and-pound stoppage wins over Laurita Likker-Cibirite and Joana Filipa. The 29-year-old seems to be more hungry than ever judging by her social media pages and appears supremely confident she can pick up the biggest win of her career in November.
With the majority of Bellator’s featherweight fighters coming off losses or having already lost to the champ, Julia Budd, the winner of this bout could very likely be receiving a shot at Budd’s belt in 2019. A victory for Dandois, combined with her win streak and many notable victories, would immediately raise questions as to whether she could be the best featherweight on the roster. However, if undefeated Rubin can take out such a highly experienced opponent, then she has more than proven she’s ready for the next shot.
Bellator 209 takes place this Thursday November 15 from the Menora Mivtachim in Tel Aviv, Israel from 4pm EST. The main card featuring Dandois vs. Rubin will be aired on tape delay the following day on Friday November 16 via Paramount Network from 8pm EST.
