Cindy Dandois eyeing move to Bellator and RIZIN, plans to compete in multiple divisions

Earlier today it was announced that Cindy Dandois and the UFC have departed ways. The news comes as a shock to many as Dandois has only lost one UFC fight, dropping a hard-fought decision to top-fifteen ranked Alexis Davis. She owns notable victories over Megan Anderson and Marloes Coenen.

Dandois wants to fight for an organization who will appreciate her.

Dandois (8-3), also known as the “Battlecat”, is not phazed by the news, she already has her next opponent in mind. She wants to take on RIZIN star, King Reina.

On paper, the fight may seem like a mismatch in terms of size. However, Reina (5-0), who is the number-one ranked welterweight fighter in the world, has cut as low as lightweight during her pro career. Dandois reveals she walks around just above the lightweight limit, making her walking weight technically a welterweight.

I walk around for the moment at bout 158. So it’s not such a big difference. I will be stronger too. I would like to meet her at weight she wants. If she doesn’t cut I won’t cut. Its the same thing” Dandois said.

I think she is very impressive. She is a strong girl. I like that she has a personality. I want to fight for a place where I can be myself and where I can keep my princess themes” Dandois continued.

RIZIN, which has fast become one of the most popular MMA organizations in the world, has a close association with Bellator MMA. Several stars compete in both organizations, such as King Mo. Dandois says this would be ideal for her as she wants to stay active. She is happy to be a part of Bellator’s featherweight division, as well as fighting bigger girls in RIZIN’s welterweight+ divisions.

That’s what makes it very appealing to me [the association with Bellator and RIZIN]. The goal is to compete as much as possible. I can do higher weight-classes and I can make 145 pretty easy. So if that brings me more fights a year, that would be great” Dandois explained.
